There are three areas in the life of a believer that we are told to do in secret (Matthew 6:4; Matthew 6:6; and Matthew 6:18)The word used in scriptures is κρυπτός (kruptos) which indicates a hidden or secret attribute or (adjective) that shows the true intentions of a person's heart. Sounds familiar? In fact, Jesus compared the intentions of the heart of those who did the things mentioned in public so that EVERYONE could see and those who did them in secret!
No, I am not condoning public prayer, but if you want your public life to be one of productive fruit for the kingdom of God, spend more time alone with God, only then, will He reveal His secrets to you in a more personal way! May you be blessed and may you continue to grow in His wisdom and His knowledge! BTW, Jesus modeled this private time with the Father, as we are told that day and night, He would pray in secret!
